Rás 2 is a radio service of Iceland’s public broadcaster RÚV. Its Icelandic-language programmes combine music, conversation and news, with a particular role in introducing Icelandic musicians.
The broadcaster’s music policy emphasises a broad selection of styles and live music, including concerts and festivals. It sets a minimum daily share of 40 percent Icelandic music rather than focusing only on international chart hits.
RÚV publishes a daily programme guide and weekly music lists for the station. Programmes include Vinsældalisti Rásar 2; the service is distinct from Rás 1 and Rondó.
