Mahakatha Radio

Mahakatha Radio is a free, continuous mantra station from Mahakatha in India. Its publisher describes it as a 24-hour service without advertisements or a subscription requirement.

The selection includes Hindu and Buddhist mantras associated with Ganesha, Shiva, Devi, Krishna, Lakshmi, Saraswati and Hanuman. It is not exclusively a Krishna or single-deity channel.

Everyone tuned to the live station hears the same point in the broadcast. The service is radio rather than an on-demand player where each listener chooses an individual track.

A Prayer Requests programme is advertised at 07:00 and 19:00 India time. The publisher says submitted prayers are read on air and followed by a selected mantra.

The official site provides information about the currently playing mantra and links to prayer requests, the prayer wall and support options. The Sanskrit-chanting focus distinguishes it from a general music service.

Mahakatha publishes a direct MP3 station address for internet-radio applications in addition to browser listening. Its editorial pages explicitly distinguish Mahakatha Radio from ISKCON and temple-run Hare Krishna stations.
